Senior Gabe Logan led the team with a 73 (+3)

The Lancer golf team took to the course on Thursday morning playing in the season opening Oakwood Invitational at Dayton Country Club along with 18 other schools. This year’s Lancer team, led by seniors
Gabe Logan and Andrew Bobowski, looked to get off to a quick start in what will be a busy first 2 weeks
of the season.

Coach Dave Millers team is in somewhat of a rebuilding year having to replace two seasoned players
from last years District qualifying team. In doing so, newcomers Nate Schmid and Brodie McGuane, both
Juniors, along with Freshman Colin Bobowski saw action in their first varsity match.
Playing in front of the watchful eyes of University of Dayton golf coach Gip Hoagland, Logan provided
the team with its low score of the day with a 3 over par 73. Having won this event in 2020, Logan
rebounded from a slow start by carding 4 birdies for the day to finish in 10th place in a very strong field of
players.

Other team scores were Andrew Bobowski 83, Colin Bobowski 89, Schmid 90, and McGuane 90. The
Lancers team total of 335 found them finishing in the middle of the pack. Up next is the St. Xavier
Invitational at Maketewah Country Club on Saturday afternoon with a 1:00 shotgun start. Monday they
will travel back to Dayton to compete in the Centerville Invitational at Yankee Trace GC. The teams first
GCL event of the year will be played Thursday afternoon at Clovernook Country Club with tee times
starting at 4:00.
